The Attributes page in the POS app's Inventory section lets you manage your product option types straight from the tablet. Attributes name the kinds of options your products come in, Size, Flavor, Strain, Nicotine Strength, Ohm rating, and you define each one once here. The actual values (Small, Grape Ice, 5%, 0.8ฮฉ) are picked per product when you build variants, which is what lets one attribute serve very different product lines across your catalog.
๐ This page manages attribute names only. The values under each attribute are entered on the product itself during variant setup. This is the same shared attribute list your web backend uses, changes here appear there instantly, and vice versa.
Where to find it
From the POS app, open the Inventory section and select Attributes from the menu. The page opens with your full attribute list and a count of how many attributes your store has defined.

Adding an attribute
-
Tap + Add attribute in the top-right corner.
-
An entry row appears at the top of the list, with placeholder examples, Size, Color, Flavor.
-
Type the attribute name. Keep it generic; the specifics belong in the values you'll enter per product.
-
Tap Add attribute to save, or Cancel to discard.
-
The attribute is immediately available in variant setup on both the POS and the web backend.

๐ก Tip. Smoke shop catalogs run on a handful of workhorse attributes, Flavor, Nicotine Strength, Size, Strain, grams, Ohm. Define them once, cleanly, and every variant product you build afterward stays consistent.
โ ๏ธ Important. Don't create attributes that duplicate built-in product fields. Price, cost, and stock already live on every product and variant, so an attribute named "Price" invites confusion between the real selling price and an option label. Reserve attributes for genuine option types a customer chooses between.
Renaming an attribute
-
Tap the pencil icon on the attribute's row.
-
The name becomes an editable field right in the row, no separate screen.
-
Type the change.
-
Tap Save to apply, or Cancel to keep the original name.
The row's "Updated" note refreshes so you can see which attributes were touched recently.

โ ๏ธ Important. Renaming changes the option label everywhere it's used, in the product editor and on your online store, where shoppers pick between variants under that label. What you type here is exactly what customers read.
How attributes connect to variant products
-
When creating or editing a product, enable attributes and options in the product form.
-
Select the attributes that apply and enter this product's values for each.
-
Quickvee generates the sellable combinations. Flavor (Grape, Mint) ร Strength (3%, 5%) yields four variants, each with its own price, barcode, and stock level.
โ Best practice. Check this page before building a big variant product and add any missing attribute first. Defining option types up front prevents near-duplicates like "Flavour" living beside "Flavor," the kind of drift that makes catalogs painful to clean up later.
POS and web, one attribute list
There's only one attribute list per store. Add or rename an attribute on the tablet and it's live in the web backend's Inventory โ Attributes page the same moment, and in every product form on both platforms.
Common questions
Q. What's the difference between attributes, brands, and tags?
A. Attributes define the options one product comes in (Size, Strain). Brands identify who makes it. Tags are freeform labels for grouping and promotion. A THCA pre-roll might carry the brand, a Strain attribute with value Gelato, and a "new drop" tag all at once.
Q. Why don't I see the values listed under each attribute?
A. By design, values are product-specific and entered during variant setup. This page holds only the shared names.
Q. Can I delete an attribute?
A. The page offers rename via the pencil icon; there's no delete action. Attributes are shared building blocks referenced by variant products, so removal isn't offered here. If one's no longer needed, simply stop using it on new products.
Q. I typed a lowercase name and it saved capitalized. Why?
A. The first letter of an attribute name is capitalized automatically on save for consistent labels across the backend and online store.
Q. How many attributes can one product use?
A. Multiple, for example Size, Flavor, and Strength together. The system generates the full combination matrix from the values you enter.
